Q. My THERS email address is "@f.mail.nagoya-u.ac.jp", but I’ve seen that some faculty members use "@mail.f.thers.ac.jp". Could you explain the difference between these two domains?
A. The domain of the email address differs depending on organizational affiliation.
Due to the administrative integration in April 2022, the primary affiliation of staff members from both Nagoya University and Gifu University was changed to the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System (THERS).
As a result of this organizational restructuring, from May 1, 2022 onward:
- Faculty and staff whose official affiliation was changed to THERS have "@mail.f.thers.ac.jp" as their primary email address (the one displayed).
- Faculty and staff whose actual workplace remains Nagoya University have "@f.mail.nagoya-u.ac.jp" as their primary email address.
To confirm your currently assigned email address, please follow the steps below in Outlook on the web.
- Click the Settings icon (gear symbol) in the upper right corner.
- Check the address displayed under "Email" > "Create" > "From address".
