Q. What should I check when taking over a PC that still contains the previous user’s THERS account information?
A. Please follow the steps below when taking over a PC:
*For services other than Microsoft 365 Copilot, please delete authentication history according to the requirements of each service.
*Before performing the steps below, please make sure to back up any necessary files.
1. Delete the previous user’s email profile in Outlook (desktop app).
Operator: [Predecessor] or [Successor]
Delete the [Predecessor]’s email profile.
Operator: [Successor]
Create an email profile and configure the email settings.

2. Sign out of Microsoft 365 on the device.

Sign out by following the steps provided on the site below.

Perform the following steps in the Office desktop apps (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Launch an Office app.
- Go to "File" > "Account".
- Check that Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise is displayed under Product Information.
→ If a different product is displayed, stop here. - Select "Switch License".
→ Sign in with the successor’s THERS account. - If the predecessor’s THERS account is shown under "User Information":
→ Select "Sign Out".
3. Sign out from Microsoft 365 Copilot Home.

- Access the Microsoft 365 Copilot Home page.
- If signed in with the [Predecessor]’s THERS account:
→ Click the user icon at the bottom left and select "Sign Out".
4.Delete the [Predecessor]’s THERS account from "Email & accounts."

- Press the Windows key.
- Select "Settings (gear icon)".
- Select "Accounts".
- Select "Email & accounts".
→If the [Predecessor]’s THERS account is listed, delete it.
5.Disconnect the [Predecessor]’s THERS account from "Access work or school".

- Press the Windows key.
- Select "Settings (gear icon)".
- Select "Accounts".
