Q. Can I back up the data on my PC using OneDrive?
A. Please follow the steps below to configure the backup.
*When OneDrive free space is low, check your backup status and pause or stop PC backups.
*Only specific folders on the PC are included in the PC backup — it cannot back up all files on the computer. The PC backup feature targets only some folders; it does not perform a full backup of the entire PC.
■Windows
- Click the OneDrive icon (blue cloud) shown on the taskbar.
【Notes】- Cloud (Blue)…OneDrive for Business (Using OneDrive with the THERS account)
- Cloud (White)…OneDrive for Personal (Using OneDrive with a Personal account)
- Click "Help & Settings" (gear icon), then select "Settings".
- Choose "Sync and backup" and click "Manage backup".

- Turn on the toggle labeled "Not backed up" for the folder you want to back up.
- A backup of the specified folder will be created in OneDrive.
*The folder you started backing up is synced with OneDrive. If you delete files from the backup folder in OneDrive, those files will also be deleted from the folder on your PC, so please be careful.
- Turn on the toggle labeled "Not backed up" for the folder you want to back up.
【Stop PC backup】

Turn off the toggle labeled "Backed up" for the folder you want to stop backing up.
When the message "Stop backing up XXX folder?" appears, select "Stop backup and choose where to keep files". After specifying your preferred file storage location, click "Continue".
- After you stop the backup, the PC folder will be emptied and a shortcut to OneDrive will be created. If there are files you want to restore to your PC, open OneDrive from the shortcut and move (or copy) them back to your PC.
*If your OneDrive storage is running low, stop the backup and then delete any files remaining in OneDrive.

"Full Disk Access" must be enabled.
Click "System Settings", select "Privacy & Security", open "Full Disk Access", and turn on the toggle for "OneDrive".
- Click the OneDrive icon (cloud) shown on the taskbar.
*Make sure that "OneDrive – 国立大学法人東海国立大学機構" is displayed.
(If the icon is not displayed on the taskbar, launch the Microsoft OneDrive app and sign in with your THERS account.)
- Click "Help & Settings" (gear icon), then select "Preferences".
- Click the "Backup" tab.

- A backup of the specified folder will be created in OneDrive.
