Q. A folder is automatically created in OneDrive. What kinds of files are stored in the "Microsoft Teams Chat Files" folder?
A. The "Microsoft Teams Chat Files" folder stores files uploaded in Teams Chat.
If Teams is set to Japanese, files are saved in "Microsoft Teams チャット ファイル"; if set to English, they are saved in "Microsoft Teams Chat Files".
Regardless of the Teams language, when you use Loop components in Teams chats or add files from the mobile app, the content is saved to "Microsoft Teams Chat Files".
Files uploaded in Teams "Chat" are saved to OneDrive, while files uploaded in "Teams" (channels) are saved to SharePoint.
| Teams | File Save Location |

- "Apps"
Files uploaded by respondents in Microsoft Forms are saved in a "Microsoft Forms" folder that is automatically created inside the "Apps" folder.
- "Attachments"
When you use Save to OneDrive for an email attachment in Outlook on the web, an Attachments folder is created and the attachment is saved there.
- "Recordings"
When you select "Start recording" in a private chat in Microsoft Teams, a "Recording" folder is created to store the recording.
- "Notebooks"
When you open OneNote from the Microsoft 365 Home app list and create a new notebook, a "Notebooks" folder is created as the storage location.
- "Whiteboards"
When a file is created using the Microsoft Whiteboards app, a "Whiteboards" folder is created as the storage location.
- "Transcribed Files"
When Word’s Transcribe feature generates audio files, a "Transcribed Files" folder is created to store them.
Files created in Office for the web apps such as Word and Excel are saved directly in OneDrive under "My Files", and no separate folders are created for them.
