Q. Is it permissible to share the THERS's Microsoft 365 OneDrive with external collaborators and work together? If not, is it possible to issue THERS accounts to external collaborators?
A. Considering users' digital literacy, we believe enabling external sharing on OneDrive is not feasible; adopting a SharePoint-based approach is more realistic. However, the specific configuration settings are still under review.
*From January 2025, the name "Microsoft 365" was changed to "Microsoft 365 Copilot".
THERS accounts are issued in linkage with registration information from the Human Resources and Payroll System and the Student Affairs Information System, so as a rule they cannot be issued to persons other than the university’s faculty, staff, and students. Issuing accounts to non-university members would also conflict with the contract with Microsoft.
Because we must protect internal information (especially students' personal data), adopting a system that invites external users as guest accounts is difficult to implement without restrictions.
