Q. Instructions for reconfiguring multi-factor authentication after clearing registered authentication information are requested.
A. Please reconfigure multi-factor authentication using the steps below.
*From January 2025, the name "Microsoft 365" was changed to "Microsoft 365 Copilot".

【PC】 Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Copilot home page.

【PC】 Enter your THERS account and click "Next".(@f.thers.ac.jp, @s.thers.ac.jp, @a.thers.ac.jp)

【PC】 Enter the password for your THERS account and click "Sign in".

【PC】 Click "Next".

【PC】 The "Install Microsoft Authenticator" screen will appear.
After installing the Microsoft Authenticator app on your registered device, click "Next".

【PC】 Click "Next".

【Smartphone】 Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your registered device, and tap the "+" icon.
*If an old "国立大学法人東海国立大学機構" account is already registered, the information will be overwritten. -
【Smartphone】 Tap "Work or school account".

【Smartphone】 Tap "Scan QR code".

【PC】 Scan the QR code using the Microsoft Authenticator app.

【PC】 Click "Next".

Enter the two-digit number displayed on your PC screen into the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone, then tap "Yes".

A dialog saying "Authenticator Added" appears on the PC. At the same time, the "国立大学法人東海国立大学機構" account is added to the Microsoft Authenticator app on the smartphone.
- 【PC】Click "Done".
*If "Email" is already registered, this screen will display "Set up compleate".

- 【PC】 When the phone number setup screen appears, enter the "Country code" and "Phone number", then click either "Text a code" or "Call" to receive the verification code.
(If you are setting up a landline number, please select "Call" as SMS cannot be used.)
By registering your phone number, you will be able to perform the following actions. We highly recommend completing the registration.

If you select "Call", you will receive an automated phone call. Please follow the voice instructions to complete the authentication process. When the dialog "You answered the call. Your phone has been successfully registered" appears on your computer screen, click "Next".

When "Let’s prove you’re human" appears, accurately enter the eight characters shown in the image in the center of the dialog box. (Please note that the characters are case-sensitive.)
*If the image is difficult to read, you can change it by clicking "New image", or use "Audio" to listen to the characters. - If you select "Text a code", you will authenticate using a code sent via SMS to your smartphone or mobile phone. A 6-digit code will be delivered to your phone via SMS. Enter the received 6-digit code into the code input screen on your computer and click "Next".

When the dialog "Phone number added" appears on your computer screen, click "Done".

When the "Set up complete" dialog appears on your computer screen, you will see the two authentication methods registered as your default sign-in options. Click "Done".
