Q. When scanning the QR code from the account security protection screen using the Microsoft Authenticator app, the following error message appears: "You have already used this QR code to add an account".
A. Please delete the account registered as "Tokai National Higher Education and Research System" from the Microsoft Authenticator app, then scan the QR code again to re-add the account.
QR codes become invalid after a certain period of time. If the QR code has expired, please click "Back" and then "Next" to regenerate and display a new QR code.
If the issue persists, please try the following steps:
- Restart the smartphone.
Reinstall the Microsoft Authenticator app.
*Caution: Reinstalling the app will erase all existing MFA account registrations.
