Q. Please tell me the procedure to transfer the settings of the Microsoft Authenticator currently in use to another smartphone.
A. If you have both your old smartphone and new smartphone on hand, or you can currently sign in to the Microsoft 365 Copilot My Page via phone authentication, please re-register multi-factor authentication on your new smartphone by following the steps below.

Registering a phone number as an authentication method enables the following features:
- If the password is forgotten, it can be changed independently via SSPR (Self-Service Password Reset).
- If the Microsoft Authenticator app is unavailable, authentication can be performed using a registered phone number.
It is highly recommended to register.
