Q. How can I use Microsoft 365 Copilot on a shared PC?
A. Microsoft 365 Copilot can be used on a shared PC if all of the following conditions are met.
*From January 2025, the name "Microsoft 365" was changed to "Microsoft 365 Copilot".

First, verify that all users have the required licenses and that the shared PC is running a supported Windows OS.
If the requirements are met, follow the steps below to enable Shared Computer Activation for Microsoft 365 Apps. After completing the configuration, create a separate local account on the PC for each user.

- Use the following site as a reference to install Microsoft 365 Copilot on the shared PC.

- Click the link below for the Microsoft 365 Shared Computer Activation (SCA) troubleshooting tool.

- On the "We're here to help" screen, select "Yes" for "Do we have your consent to run this" and "Add" for "Do you want to Add".
*To disable it, select "Remove" for "Do you want to Add or Remove the Office Shared Activation".
- Use the following site as a reference to install Microsoft 365 Copilot on the shared PC.

- "Completed The Office SCA troubleshooter successfully." screen, close the window.
- Launch any Office application (Excel, Word, etc.).

Enter your THERS account (e.g., ab.12c.3456@f.thers.ac.jp, @s.thers.ac.jp, or @a.thers.ac.jp) and your password, then sign in.
- From the File tab choose Account, click About Word, and confirm that "Shared Computer Activation" appears under the product information — if it does, activation is complete.
*If disabled, deactivation is complete when "Shared Computer Activation" has been replaced by "License ID" in the display.
