Q. How to change or add an authentication method for Microsoft 365 Copilot.
A. Changes can be made from the Microsoft 365 Copilot home. Follow the steps below to configure the settings.
*From January 2025, the name "Microsoft 365" was changed to "Microsoft 365 Copilot".
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Copilot Home.
- Click the user icon at the bottom left of the screen, then click "View account".
- Click "Security info" from the menu.
- Refer to the steps below to check the authentication method you want to change or add.
【How to change the phone number】
- Click "Change" under the Phone section.
- Enter the "Country code" and "Phone number", select "Text a code", and click "Next". A six-digit code will then be sent via SMS to your smartphone or mobile phone.
- Enter the six-digit code and click "Next". When the registration completion screen appears, click "Done".
【How to change the email address】
Email can be used as an authentication method for SSPR (Self-Service Password Reset). Please note that it cannot be used for sign-in authentication.

- Click "Change" under the Email section.
- Enter the email address and click "Next".
The THERS email address cannot be used.
- Enter the six-digit code sent to the email address you entered, then click "Next".
Once the registration completion screen appears in the top right corner, the email change is complete.

- Click on "+ Add sign-in method".
- Select the authentication method you want to add.
Sign-in methods that cannot be added—such as those already configured—will not be displayed.
